Must-Visit Beaches in Switzerland
It’s summer season. The best time to visit some fantastic beaches of Switzerland. Here are the top ten, you shouldn’t miss:
Eaux-Vives Beach – Geneva, GE :-
- This beach is located in the heart city of Geneva. It is a great site to swim around and have fun with a view of the Jet d’Eau.
- How to get there: Situated centrally, you can walk on foot or use any public transportation mode.
Steckborn LidoSteckborn – Eastern Switzerland :-
- Steckborn Lido is situated in a bay between Feldbach and Glarisegg Castle by the shores of Lake Constance. How to get there: You can walk from Steckborn station. Parking spaces for vehicles are available subject to a charge.
Lido in La Neuveville, BE – Jura and Three lakes :-
- The old town of Neuveville has a beautiful beach that overlooks St. Peter’s island. The lido on Lake Biel is open to everyone.
- How to get there: It is a short stroll from the La Neuveville train station and jetty.
Biel LidoBiel, BE, Jura and Three Lakes :-
- This is a paradise beach for all people who love the water. Along with the sandy beach, there is also a diving platform, water park, and play area for kids.
- How to get there: A 10-minute walk from the station.
YvonandYvonand, VD – Lake Geneva region :-
- You will be likely to find fine white sand and turquoise-blue waters. The beaches at Yvonand evoke a beautiful sea feeling. The ideal place to find peace and to relax is the beaches at Yvonand.
- How to get there: Yvonand’s beaches can be reached within a walking distance of the train station.
Lido in Ascona – Ascona, TI :-
- Ascona Lido is one of the longest and loveliest beaches in Switzerland. A variety of watersports activities can be found here like wakeboarding, surfing, etc. Restaurants, cafes, bars, and sports facilities can be enjoyed.
- How to get there: It’s around one kilometer from the town center and hence you can walk there or take the bus to the beach.
The Plage de Versoix :-
- The Plage de Versoix has a grassy park and calming beach with a lot of fun activities. It is best to visit on lazy weekends. A wide variety of food and drinks are offered at a reasonable price at the Buvette du Port Choiseul restaurant from bagels, homemade cakes to freshly squeezed fruit juice.
- How to get there: It is a short 15-minute drive from the Geneva station.
The Lac de Passy :-
- The turquoise water body is surrounded with fine sand of course, against the mighty Alps mountains. Mini golfing, aqua biking, and many other activities can be performed here.
Baby Plage :-
A lovely comfy beach is nestled on the east side of Lake Geneva, next to La Grange Park. It is a family-friendly beach equipped with jungle gyms, tire swings. There are ice cream shops and fast food hubs.
Geneve Plage :-
- It is the biggest beach and swimming area located in the chic neighborhood of Cologne. The main attraction here is not the lake beach but the Olympic-sized swimming pool, paddling pools, slides, and high dives. There are big lawns and trees which provide bountiful shade.
